perfect information

I'm no expert but I learned that one short fall of our economic system is that we have imperfect information about the products we buy. usually the only way we compare things in the store is by the price and the bullet points. Reviews and ethical business practices such as slave labor, pollution, political alignments etc. are completely hidden from the average consumer. heres an idea for a piece of software which would make consumers more ethical by bringing these crimes closer to home.

A: Take picture of bar code in super market
B: cameraphone interprets bar code
C: cameraphone searches for bar code in product reviews database
D: cameraphone displays the companies unethical and ethical practices, also displays user reviews and comparitive pricing.

Invisable DAW

An all-in-one box for laptop recording which is the size of a laptop and attaches to the bottom of a laptop. This is so that it's just as convient as a laptop. I'm aware that laptops give off heat through the bottom but All-in-one boxes dont have enough electronics to fill a box that size so vents would be easy

the voice

Heard the call of the sea lion in person today. Anyone know if its possible to create an instrument which models the vocal chords? Vowelizing is easy but noone seems to be able to get the excitation sounds down.
